Museums in Denmark Worth A Visit

If you are looking for a bit of culture and education in Denmark you could pay a visit to one of their many museums. There are over 15 museums in Denmark covering a wide range of subjects.

There are a number of museums in Denmark that are open to the public covering a massive range of topics. Whatever it is that you want to learn or find out about you will probably find a museum that will fit the bill.

For example in Central Aaruhs there is a Viking Museum situated beneath the Nordea Bank. It is actually built on the site of an archaeological excavation in which they discovered a number of items, and parts of a human skeleton from the Viking age. The museum was renovated in 2008 and reopened during the Aarhus Viking Town Market.

For something a little bit different you could always visit the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum in Copenhagen. The Believe It Or Not franchise is a small museum dedicated to bizarre events and items so strange and unusual that readers might question the claims.

Situation next to the museum of Jacob McCartney Walter the Believe It Or Not Museum attracts visitors from all over the country wanting to see exhibits of the weird and wonderful.

If you are interested in the more traditional museums in Denmark you could always pay a visit to Zoologisk Museum. This Copenhagen Zoological Museum is part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark which consists of four natural science museums. There are a number of exhibitions, the most popular being ‘From pole to pole’ in which animals from around the world are displayed for all to see.

Another place to visit that children would also like is The Funen Village in Odense. This open air museum has over 20 buildings from Funish villages from as long ago as the 18th century.

You could always pay a visit to the Danish Tramway Museum located in Jystrup. Opening in 1978 it has numerous displays of trams, buses, locomotives and other materials concerning public transport. It is actually built on the remains of a railway that closed back in 1936.

This is just a few of the museums in Denmark that are available to visit if you want to add some culture and education to your holiday. Denmark is not a large country and everything is within a few hours of each other giving you ample opportunity to visit as many of these as possible.
